Swire Properties is looking for innovators to monitor waste generation and recycling performance in its retail portfolio and facilitate higher recycling rates among commercial tenants. Over 90% of waste produced in shopping malls comes from commercial tenants. Waste is usually separated at the tenant’s premises, before being transferred by the mall’s cleaning contractors to the mall’s central refuse room, where bins, incl. 240L and 660L bins, are located to store different types of waste and recyclables.
We would expect an integrated solution that could include, but are not limited to the following components:
The solution must be relevant to tenants’ operations, cleaning contractors, and refuse rooms. Solutions can consider digital recording of tenants’ waste generation patterns and provide data to encourage behaviour and operational change.
What we are not interested in
Solutions that are merely focused on consumers’ and mall visitors’ waste, as this comprises a minimal portion of waste managed.
