According to the water use record, the freshwater cooling tower system consumes substantial amount of freshwater in Swire’s portfolios. Swire Properties is looking for a solution to reduce freshwater use in cooling tower through capturing and reuse of the evaporation, which is the main source of water loss in the cooling process.

Solutions could include but are not limited to:

• • Efficient and sustainable water vapour capture and reuse systems
    
    
  • Retrofits of existing cooling tower systems that improve water efficiency while optimizing the existing energy performance

Innovators proposing water-efficiency cooling towers solutions should consider retrofit and modification of existing system and equipment. The solutions that improve cooling tower efficiency or reduce water loss must be compatible with current installations.

In consider of unnecessary waste generation, replacement is not preferred unless significant performance improvement can be achieved with the proposed equipment.

Innovators shall provide reliable data, studies and/or job references on the solutions that prove their performances and applications are suitable for Southeast Asia condition. Innovators is responsible to demonstrate compliance with relevant local statutory requirements.

Innovators shall propose project-specific solutions and able to verify the water/energy performance before and after the implementation of solutions.
