Challenge Overview

Cathay Pacific seeks data and software solutions to understand the sustainability impact of various materials to make more sustainable procurement decisions.

The innovations must have the potential to be applied in an efficient, cost-effective, practical, and scalable manner.

The solutions will be adapted from LCA tools and database and could include but are not limited to:

• Software tools integrating Life Cycle Assessment Analysis
  
  
• Provider of packaging sustainability data, including end-of-life scenarios
  
  
• Sustainability rating systems for products - to quickly assess and compare impact
  
  
• Plastics or material tracking.

Main Requirements

The solution needs to provide a simple method to evaluate the environmental footprint of different materials.

What we are not interested in

Life Cycle Assessment solutions which are too comprehensive and difficult to understand.

Solutions that only assess suppliers’ sustainability level are not considered, as the company already has a tool for this application.
