Cathay Pacific: Office Waste Diversion


Challenge Overview

Cathay Pacific is looking for solutions reduce waste production and increase recycling rates in its Hong Kong office.

Besides technical solutions, the innovator must have a previous experience in Hong Kong’s professional environment and understand the local working culture.

The innovations must have the potential to be applied in an efficient, cost-effective, practical, and scalable manner.

Solutions could include but are not limited to:

  • Smart bins
  • Digital tools for waste tracking
  • Digital and low-tech solutions and services that can improve waste disposal behaviours

Main Requirements

The focus should be on employees’ daily waste, such as takeaway packaging.

The solution will be applied in Cathay’s Hong Kong office. The innovators that have a previous experience in Hong Kong’s professional environment and understand local complexities regarding waste diversion and sorting will be preferred.

What we are not interested in

Solutions that require a high level of maintenance and internal logistics, and that do not take employee considerations into account.
